Electrical Engineer

Position Description
Fiberforge is seeking to hire an outstanding team member to design, develop, and maintain the complex automated equipment used in our patented manufacturing process.  Some travel may be required.

The ideal candidate would have the following:
  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 3+ years experience in control system design for automated industrial machinery
  • Experience with servo mechanisms, computer controls and PLC’s
  • Familiarity with electro-mechanical devices such as motors, controls, etc.
  • Ability to work both within a design team and independently
  •  Familiarity with Beckhoff Motion controls or other motion controller
  • Ability to design and maintain electrical schematics and cabinet layouts using AutoCad electrical
  • Experience programming motion controllers using IEC 61131-3 programming standard
  • Experience using C# to develop and maintain HMI interfaces.
 

 


Sales Engineer (Fiberforge GmbH, Zurich)

Description & Responsibilities
This is a technical sales position, with responsibility for managing customer relationships, attending trade shows, generating quotations for customer prospects, and performing analysis on design, development, and maintenance of high speed automated equipment. The successful candidate will have the following skills, capabilities, and experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Science
  • 5+ years experience in Technical Sales
  • Experience with advanced composites and manufacturing technology
  • Good communication skills with customers, fellow employees, and management
  • Ability to work both within a design team and independently

Candidates should be driven, results oriented and willing to be held accountable for producing revenue. An entrepreneurial background is a plus.


Composite Applications Engineer (Fiberforge GmbH, Zurich)

Description & Responsibilities
This is a senior engineering position, with responsibility for managing multiple composites engineering projects simultaneously. The successful candidate will have the following skills, capabilities, and experience:

  • 10+ years of composite design and processing experience
  • Significant experience working with thermoplastic advanced composites
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills
  • Direct experience with solving customer problems
  • Excellent creative-thinking and problem solving capabilities
  • Ability to function well on a motivated team
  • Capable in SolidWorks, NEI Nastran, and LabView


Program Manager – Composite Applications

Position Description
Fiberforge Corporation has an immediate opening for a Program Manager to manage customer product development program(s). This position involves direct customer interaction and responsibility for managing program scope and schedule to meet financial performance targets for all phases of program(s) from program planning, prototyping, production, and general support.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides monthly updates to management and customers of program status relating to contractual milestones and problem areas
  • Directs overall program performance and provides direction to team regarding customer concerns, risk, and scope
  • Manages organization and leadership of team(s) to execute on development and production programs
  • Develops corrective action and recovery plans as needed
  • Manages programmatic risk
  • Manages customer relationship, ensuring customer satisfaction while appropriately managing scope, cost and schedule
  • Manages program life to ensure financial success
  • Works in a dynamic and cross-functional environment to complete other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or business
  • Minimum 5 years of program management or project management experience in the aerospace or military industry

Quality Assurance Consultant

Position Description

Fiberforge Corporation has an immediate opening for a Quality Assurance consultant. This person will implement, support, and sustain elements of Fiberforge’s Quality system through support of requirements of AS9100c Quality Management System. The Quality Assurance consultant will serve as a key resource for support to the Quality department. Responsibilities include:

  • Assist Fiberforge to in the implementation plan to become AS9100c certified in 2012
  • Assist in training company to be able to implement and maintain Quality Management System
  • Perform Internal Audits and required followup
  • Creation of required documentation, including procedures and forms
  • Investigating non-conformances and providing feedback
  • Assure development of effective root cause analysis, corrective and preventive action skills
  • Training, management reviews, and procedure implementation
  • Develop systems & procedures for the collection of quality system metrics
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing to ensure effective implementation of process and inspection improvements.
  • Good analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Performing effectiveness verification
  • Assist the organization in identifying opportunities for improvements.
  • Manage assigned quality projects to ensure that delivery dates are met and that progress is communicated in a timely manner throughout the organization
  • Preference will be given to candidates with the following skills and experience:
  • Quality experience with ISO required
  • Quality experience with AS9100 beneficial

Assembly Technician

Position Description
Fiberforge Corporation has an immediate opening for an Assembly Technician. This person will assemble subassemblies and main assemblies per documents. Responsibilities include:

  • Inspect machined parts, ensuring they meet drawing requirements
  • Build up sub-assemblies on floor or bench and fit, adjust, and align parts as necessary
  • Assemble parts into a subassembly and assembling subassemblies onto a final assembly
  •  Test partly assembled parts carefully before performing the final assembly
  • Make precision machine alignments of rails, machine beds, slides and linear bearings
  • Perform various hand or simple power machine operations such as drilling, tapping, reaming, filing, scraping, etc., as required
  • Disassemble completed machines for shipping, properly identifying all parts to facilitate erection at customer's facility
  • Suggest changes in design or construction to facilitate assembly procedure or to increase machine efficiency
  • Travel to installation locations

Preference will be given to candidates with the following skills and experience:

  • Able to understand technical documentation, assembly drawings, bill of materials, blueprints, charts, operating instructions, etc.
  • Understands tolerances and proper fits and ways of bearings, and rack & pinions
  • Has good knowledge about the use of assembly tools, dial indicators, torque wenches, precision levels, etc.
  • Good team player
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
  • Ability to work for long hours on feet
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Associates Degree in a Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 2 or more years assembly industrial machinery

Electrical Technician

Position Description
Fiberforge Corporation has an immediate opening for an Electrical Technician. This person will apply electrical theory and related knowledge in wiring machines and testing circuits per the electrical schematics. Responsibilities include:

  • Wiring machines per electrical schematics
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams and schematics
  • Installing electrical components into machinery, including sensors, drives, cables, transformers and I/O devices
  • Testing solid-state circuitry to find defective parts in digital and analog equipment and replacing defective parts
  • Startup servo drives and be able to tune them for optimized performance
  • Travel to installation locations

Preference will be given to candidates with the following skills and experience:

  • Good understanding of 2009 NFPA 79 Electrical Standard for Industrial Machinery
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics
  • Ability to do a clean and well organized wiring of a machine
  • Ability to establish and maintain solid working relationships with others
  • Able to test, calibrate, diagnose, and repair various devices

Materials and Process Engineer III – Thermoplastic Joining

Position Description

Fiberforge Corporation has an immediate opening for a Materials and Process (M&P) engineer who will be responsible for developing, documenting, and industrializing induction welding techniques and other structural joining methods for thermoplastic advanced composites. The position includes considerable hands‐on work and close involvement with product development activities. Activities include tooling materials selection, process modeling, process optimization through the use of industry-standard DOE methods, and production scale up.

Preference will be given to candidates with the following skills and experience:

  • Significant direct experience in induction welding of high-performance thermoplastic composites such as PEEK, PEKK, PPS, and PEI
  • Strong background in polymer engineering and familiarity with process modeling or high-temperature ceramics
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing Engineering with 5+ years of experience in composite joining methods
  • Excellent creative thinking and problem solving capabilities
  • Ability to work well in a cross‐functional team environment
  • Strong organizational skills

Position Description
Fiberforge Corporation has an immediate opening for Vice President of Marketing and Sales. This person will work with senior management to develop and implement strategic licensing, joint development, and partnership relationships with customers. Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies
  • Lead the acquisition of new customers for the company creating revenue and generating profits through sales
  • Structure and close strategic licensing, joint development, and partnership deals with customers
  • Directly manage major and critical developing accounts and coordinate the management of all other accounts
  • Participate in the development of new project proposals
